ENGINE 33 was kept in a substantialbrick building thatstood on a little hill in a pleasantpart of the city. Thebrass shone so brightly thatyou could see your face in it, and not a speckof dust or rust was to be seen on any partof it, as it stood ready for use at a moment’snotice. Directly over the shafts hung theharnesses, to be lowered down upon the horseswhen they took their places in front of theengine; and this was the work of an instant.
The floor was just as clean as the engine;and so were all parts of the building. Threestrong beautifully
