It is the object of these studies to follow carefully the spermatidtransformations, and, if possible, to get a complete seriesof changes occurring therein. I do not pretend that I have asyet found all the stages, but in the present paper will publishobservations made on Gryllus assimilis pertaining chiefly to thenebenkern, of which I have found some stages not previouslydescribed, as far as I know. I shall first describe my own findings, and then compare them with the results of others.
