10 skeins Red.
2 skeins White.
1 skein Black or colors desired.
Aluminum crochet hook size H.
With Red ch 72, d c in 4th st from hook, 1 d c in eachremaining st of ch, turn.
2nd Row: Ch 3 (counts as 1 d c), 1 d c in each d c(69 d c), turn.
Repeat the 2nd row 53 times, then work a row ofs c all around working 3 s c in each corner, join,cut yarn.
Cut 72 strands of White and 36 strands of Black longenough to leave 4 inches on each end for fringe.Thread 2 strands of White into a very large eyedtapestry needle, weave horizontally through 3rd rowof d c’s weaving under 1st d c and over next d c, *under next d c and over next d c, repeat from *across row. Weave 2 more strands through same rowof d c weaving over and under same sts (4 strandswoven through 1 row). Weave 4 strands of Blackthrough next row of d c in same manner reversingthe over and under and weaving 2 strands at a time.Weave 4 strands of White through next row of d cweaving same as previous White row. This completes1 stripe. * Skip 3 rows of d c, then weave a stripesame as before. Repeat from * 7 times.
VERTICAL STRIPES: Cut 16 strands of White and8 strands of Black long enough to leave 4 inches oneach end for fringe.
