To the Memory ofmy school mate WilliamMorgan who was drowned in the Delaware.
[Pg 2]
It should be stated that some of these verses, in a slightlydifferentform, have previously appeared in various periodicals in Binghamton,Scranton, Philadelphia and New York City, but most of them appear herefor the first time, and also, perhaps it should be mentioned that someof these stanzas were written during my school days. However, themajority of the following verses have been composed since the formerbooklet was published.
And if in any way you have been helped to see, that even herein thisrugged country "the poetry of earth is never ceasing," however rude myinterpretation of it may seem to the critical, the labor and expense ofpublishing this little volume will be fully justified.
Irving Dix.
