The National Park Service is incharge of protecting some ofthe most special places inAmerica. These places havebeen set aside for the Americanpeople (and visitors fromall over the world) for theirnatural beauty, historic value,and unique resources.
There are over 400 parks,memorials, monuments,historic sites, preserves,battlefields, trails,parkways, river ways, lakeshores, and sea shores in theNational Park System! Thesespecial places can be found in49 states and in territoriessuch as Puerto Rico, Guam,American Samoa, and theVirgin Islands.

- Mississippi National River and Recreation Area
- Grand Portage National Monument
- Pipestone National Monument
- North Country National Historic Trail
