PREFACE

I have tried to present some of myimpressions on the correct use of chloroformand ether and of a very useful combination ofthese—anaesthol. No doubt, my observationsand conclusions will have to be modified inmany details by the experiences of others. Ihave merely voiced a simple and coherentworking theory, which has gradually forceditself upon me as my views on the practiceof anesthesia have become a little broaderand more comprehensive.
