Sir, having finiſhed this treatiſe, I conſideredwhat entertainment it mightfind in the world; and fearing, that itwould be envied, for the good that itoffereth unto this Kingdome, as I the Author havebeen for my practice, I bethought my ſelfe that itmight ſafely hover under your wings, whereupon Iam bold to thruſt it into your protection, that itmay the better be defended from the calumnies oftheſe times. For I intended thatthey ſhould be Protectors for themſelves: but howeverI hope that my endeavours in this ſmall treatiſe willnot be unpleaſant, but acceptable to you, for thegood which I believe it will do in the World; and ſofor this time I reſt in ſome meaſure of aſſurance ofyour worſhips favour.
