The pictures in this album are reproduced fromactual photographs taken in Europe, many of whichhave already appeared, in more or less crude form, inthe newspapers.
Believing that these photographs of men and eventsin the most stupendous war of the world's historypossess a world wide interest, and will be of permanenthistorical value, we have reproduced them in the actualcolors of life, and in form which is more worthy ofpreservation than the mere half tone newspaper cuts.
The pictures were published for sale in post cards. But when we saw how attractive they were, it occurredto us to gather them together in this album and presentit to our customers.
Please accept it with our compliments, and as anexpression of our appreciation of your confidence inus and of the business we have received from you.
