This volume has been written with the express purpose of assisting theamateur—the term is used in its broadest sense as a distinction fromthe salaried, attached professional worker—who is attracted towardscinematography. It is not a technical treatise, but is written in sucha manner as to enable the tyro to grasp the fundamental principles ofthe art, and the apparatus employed in its many varied applications.
